The MHPA is established as a 501(c)6 non-profit organization that is managed by a Board of Directors. The MHPA Board of Directors has also established an Executive Director to champion the efforts of the organization and influence its success.

Theo Harduvel - Secretary
Theo Harduvel has over thirty-five years experience in construction and building performance. Areas of expertise include restoration of vintage structures, identifying and solving complex building problems from single and multi-family residential to light commercial projects. Theo also specializes in construction consulting and management, from plan review to delivering a quality built product. He holds RESNET, BPI and Energy Star certifications. A passionate advocate for energy efficiency, Theo conducts workshops on weatherization, energy retrofit best practices, code compliance, energy efficiency and environmental issues for diverse groups and communities. As president of Chicago Home Energy, he custom tailors a range of services by listening to the client’s needs first.

MHPA Executive Director
Chris McTaggart was elected to serve as Executive Director in July 2015. He joins MHPA as an experienced energy rater, trainer and quality assurance professional with several years of experience in the building performance field.
In addition to his work with MHPA, Chris is Co-Principal of Building Efficiency Resources - a national RESNET Quality Assurance and Training Provider - and also serves as the QA Manager for the Passive House Institute US (PHIUS).
Chris is dedicated to promoting building performance throughout the Midwest and beyond, having presented at several national and regional conferences. His mission is to represent the interests of the MHPA membership and to serve as an asset to energy efficiency policy makers throughout the region.
